Getting Your Practice Noticed Online

Getting Your Practice Noticed Online

The internet is soooo saturated with people that are doing EXACTLY what you do! Let’s take me for example. ?If you type in “Cosmetic Dentist Newport Beach,” google will give you 10,000 results (probably more) with information for dentists in Newport Beach. ?So, you need to stand out.?

I know there?s a lot of information out there about how to get started on social media and I?ve even shared some of that here on the blog, but I think it’s important to focus on how you plan to stand out.?

When you?ve done all of your planning and you?ve got your strategy for how you?re going to use social media to get more patients in the door, you have to know how to get people to notice your practice! ?You have to stand out so that you can actually put your strategy to work.?The best strategy won?t do much for your business if you don’t stand out amongst the saturation.

?Today, we?re going to work through the three most important things you need to be doing to make sure that people are noticing you and you?re not just talking to yourself on social media.

1: Be Where You Know Your Patients Are

I?ve talked before about how to figure out where your patients are online but I think that it?s worth mentioning again. It?s imperative that you?re investing your time and marketing dollars into the platform that you know has the people that your practice is trying to get in front of.

For example, if your typical patient is someone in their late 40?s, professional, and has a family you?ll probably get better results from Facebook than you will on a platform like Snapchat or Twitter. If you can figure out who your target patient is, and where they hang out, you?ll find that it?s easier to get your ideal patients engaging with your content and noticing your practice.?

2: Create Content That Is Focused On Your Audience and Not You

People don?t really care too much about what you have to say until they know you care about them. When you think about it, this applies to things we do in our own lives too, right? We don?t really care about leaving a great tip at a restaurant until we know that the person who is serving us is nice, helps us out, and creates a great experience for us.

Well, the same thing applies when it comes to using social media to get patients in your business. You have to create content that THEY want and that is valuable to them. Just because you understand all of the super specific details about what you do, doesn’t mean your patients understand, or that they want to understand. Make sure that you’re creating content that they can understand and relate to.

Answer this question for me: What do you do that makes you different from everybody else? ?

Even though your business provides what other businesses provide, you have to make it clear that the way you run your business, the way you provide your services, the way you do your treatments are different. Highlight what you do that’s different.

3: Engage and Be Consistent

A key to getting noticed online is to engage with your community and be visible. Just like with any offline networking strategy, the more you show up and show up for the right things, the better results you will get. It?s so important that you?re not just being the practice that?s posting and running, and not building relationships on social media.

People are on social media to be social! So. . .start being social! People who find you online have to build up a relationship and trust before they will book an appointment with you. To help build that relationship, you have to engage with them and show that you have value to give them.

Which of these areas do you think you need to work on the most? Are you spending time where your ideal patients aren?t really hanging out? Does your content focus too much on you and not provide a lot of value? Are you posting and running and not building relationships? I hope that the tips that I?ve shared help you to get even clearer on what your social media strategy will look like. ?To make this even easier for you, I’ve created a little cheat sheet for you. ?Make sure to print it out, fill it out, and start implementing the tips right away!
